introduction
As I conduct my NMN Experiment I shall record as much data as possible so I can make comparisons in the years to come. The data below was recorded after the first 60 days of taking NMN as a daily longevity supplement and is also recorded on a YouTube video.
The results of my NMN Experiment so far below are very limited as I didn’t really know what to record, these reviews become far more detailed as my NMN Experiment continues and I start to add other anti-aging supplements to my daily stack.
my supplement régime
At this stage of my NMN Experiment I am only taking Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN):
- 125 milligrams (mg) a day in capsule form for the first 14 days, then an increase to 250 mg a day
diet & fasting
Fasting, the fasting regime I had been practicing for at least 6 months before I stared my NMN Experiment is:
- Weekdays: 8pm to Noon (16:8)
- Weekend: 8pm to 9am
Diet, the diet I follow rigidly for 5/6 days a week is as follows:
- Breakfast; Nil
- Lunch (12 Noon): fat bombs
- Snack (around 3 pm to 5 pm: nuts/shake
- Dinner: Meat (Steak, salmon or homemade beef burger) & cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, Brussel sprouts and/or cauliflower)
overall feeling: energy
I feel as though my energy level over the last 60 days of my NMN Experiment were:
- improving consistently
- high and steady
- high, but in spurts
- showing no change (to be expected after a such a short time and such a low (exploratory) dose)
- not improving
- reducing
overall feeling: sleep
My sleep was disrupted, I went to bed at 10 pm as normal, but woke at 03:30 am and could not get back to sleep. This happened for 3 to 4 nights after the first dose of 125 mg a day and it happened again at the 14 day point for 3 to 4 days when I increased the dose to 250 mg a day.
I was unable to gauge the quality of my sleep, other than to say I would sleep from 10:00 pm to 06:00 am and would be woken by the alarm.
overall feeling: eating & drinking
During the first 2 weeks of my NMN Experiment I felt tired and hungry in the afternoon; ate more than normal (nuts) and then felt okay.
When I increased my dose to 250 mg after 14 days, I noticed a marked increase in hunger and the need to eat more at night, in some cases having to eat after 8:00 pm, which is when I would normally start my fast.
overall feeling: gym performance
No change at this point in my NMN Experiment.
overall feeling: injuries
Nil.
objective statistics
The objective statistics I am recording for my NMN Experiment are:
Weight: 92 kg
BMI: 30 (Obese)
Body fat: 23%
Muscle Mass Score: 53.1
Basal Metabolic Rate: 2081
Waist (around belly button): 39 inches
Visceral Fat Level: 12
conclusion
There was actually very little to report after only 60 days of my NMN Experiment.
The main changes were a marked disruption in my sleep patterns and an upsurge in hunger when I increased my dose to 250 mg a day after 14 days.
